Self-produced with a hand from Konstantin Kersting (The Belligerents), who also mixed the track, ‘Act of Misacting’ is another delicate insight into BANFF’s exceptionally honest and thoughtful storytelling.
In BANFF’s own words, "’Act of Misacting’ is an evolution of an old guitar lick that sat in another demo, but eventually found its way into this new song. The track reflects on that feeling of guilt and regret when you're pulled into dealing with someone else's personal troubles. It's that inevitable feeling of obligation to support them even though sometimes you don't quite agree with what they've done. "
The BANFF story began on a train from Vancouver to Banff, Canada, an 18 year old Forbes with a mini travel guitar in hand: “I wrote my first song as we approached Banff, so that town brings back great writing memories for me” says Forbes. “When I started the project, I really wanted to reflect on what it meant to me as a writer and an artist, and that affiliation with Banff the town really reminded me of why I became a songwriter and what music means to me.”
Over the last couple of years, BANFF has clocked up a resume of supports some could only dream of, including the likes of Josh Pyke, Meg Mac, Japanese Wallpaper, and Montaigne, as well as appearances atBIGSOUND, The Great Escape and Falls Festival.
Previous singles ‘Stand In Line’, ‘The Great Unknown’, and ‘All Again’ all garnered strong support from community radio, including rotation additions on Sydney’s FBi Radio, as well as internationally with airplay onRadio X UK. All three singles were also added to rotation on Triple J Unearthed, with ‘All Again’ scoring a spot add on Triple J. Equipped once again with an impeccable ability for storytelling, this year will see BANFF deliver even more dulcet sounds to ears across the country.
